Description of plants
It has a strong and branched root and an upright stem. The leaves are opposite, cordate, pointed, serrated, on short stalks. The whole plant is overgrown with hooked stings that break to the touch and pour a sharp burning juice. Flower twigs bear either male or female, inconspicuous, green flowers. The fruit is a small, monoecious nut. It blooms from spring to autumn.
Use
It is one of the best blood cleansers. It is also used for hair loss, rheumatism, fever, excessive urination, joint disease, for wound healing, for anemia, stomach ulcers. Due to its vitamin and nutritional value, Nettle is used not only as a medicinal plant, but also as a vegetable. The nettle solution can be used to control aphids on fruit. Use the whole plant to prepare the solution, before the seeds appear.
Collection
Korijen se sakuplja u proljeće i jesen. Listovi i vršike koprive se sakupljaju u proljeće, a cijela stabljika se sakuplja tokom cijele godine. Sjeme se sakuplja u augustu. Sakupljanje koprive na većim površinama se vrši kosidbom i otkidanjem listova sa stabljike, i to odozdo nagore. Otkidanje se obavlja još dok je biljka u svježem stanju. Listovi se suše u sjenci, prostrti u tankom sloju.
