Description of plants

It is one of the first plants to bloom in spring. It is a perennial with a short and brown root. Ovate round ground leaves arranged in a rosette. They are wavy-toothed and twisted back at the time of budding. From the center of the rosette grows a 10 to 20 cm high flower stalk at the end of which are 5 to 10 yellow flowers. The flowers are arranged in a thyroid inflorescence and are located in an oblong green calyx. The whole plant is hairy. It blooms from March to May.

Use

It is especially good for treating lung diseases, fainting and palpitations. Tea made from primrose flowers increases the number of red blood cells. In addition, it is used in the treatment of insomnia, migraines and irregular menstruation. Promotes blood circulation and mucus expulsion. Root tea successfully acts as a sedative against headaches, nervousness, insomnia and dizziness.

Collection

The leaves and flowers are collected in the spring, during flowering, and the root during the winter. The flowers are collected with or without a calyx and must be dried immediately after picking because they quickly lose their natural color and become unsightly. For this reason, it is necessary to frequently change the paper substrate on which the flowers are dried in a very thin layer. The root, after cleaning, is dried in an airy and shady place. People with sensitive skin should avoid collecting primroses.
