Description of plants

Branched shrub or lower tree, hard and tough stems. The bark is smooth, gray-ashy, with branches on which thorns up to 1.5 cm long are arranged. The leaves are triangular and pentagonal, light bluish-green on the underside, and dark green and shiny on the upper. They resemble oak leaves but are considerably smaller. The white flowers are gathered in rich bouquets with long and short stalks. They smell strongly of honey. The fruits are juicy, red in color. They bloom in May and June, and the fruits ripen in September and October.

Use

Strengthens and regulates heart function. It is an excellent regulator of blood pressure (high blood pressure lowers and low blood pressure increases). It has a calming effect on the nervous system.

Collection

Flowers with flower stalks, leaves and fruits without a stalk are collected. Flowers and flower tips are collected only from shrubs that are in full initial bloom. They are dried in a thin layer, while taking care they don't change color. The leaves are collected after ripening, in late summer. They are first dried in the shade, and then additionally dried in a warm oven.
